A big part of what makes the Red Ribbon Appeal so fun are our awesome volunteers. For years, our Red Ribbon volunteers have proudly taken to the streets, train stations, theatre foyers and community hubs of Sydney and regional NSW to sell red ribbon merchandise and collect donations for World AIDS Day. We are so grateful for the contribution of our volunteers!
In 2024, there will be volunteer opportunities in Sydney to sell red ribbons at train stations and shake buckets at theatres.
Selling red ribbons at Sydney CBD train stations
Each year, Red Ribbon volunteers sell red ribbon merchandise at key train stations in the CBD. This year, we are needing volunteers for Wednesday 27 November and Thursday 30 November, 7am - 9am, at Wynyard, Martin Place, Town Hall and Central Stations.
Bucket collections at Sydney theatres
Each year, Red Ribbon volunteers collect donations by shaking buckets at Sydney's leading theatres and productions. Tentative dates are between Thursday 28 November to Wednesday 3 December.
Times will vary but most shifts will most likely be in the evening around 10pm when performances finish.
